Weekend Recap

Russ had to work this weekend. Normally that means that I would be loafing around, but my dad came into town and we had the best time!

He arrived on Friday afternoon, and Addison went crazy when she saw him. He really is her favorite person. I'm chopped liver when he's around and Russ is whatever is not as cool as chopped liver. We relaxed at the house for a while, and then we went to a beer tasting (for the boys...I'm not a beer fan) and dinner.

On Saturday, Dad and I went to Asheville. We found ourselves at the Dillards clearance center. It can be overwhelming to shop there, but I managed to find a few good bargains.

regular price: $250. Clearance center price: $29.

Then we shopped around Biltmore Village and had lunch at Corner Kitchen.

Best idea ever: Order two sandwiches. Each sandwich comes with two sides. Then share.

I parallel parked...perfectly. on the first try. This may not be a big deal to anyone else, but there really wasn't a need for parallel parking where I grew up so I never had to do it. I have parallel parked maybe 10 times in my life. It was a big deal. 

Whenever parallel parking is brought up in conversation, I often quote Clueless "What's the point? Everywhere you go has valet."

No trip to Asheville would be complete without a trip downtown to The Chocolate Fetish and 3 Dog Bakery. Unfortunately, all the chocolate was inhaled before I thought to take a picture.

We went back to the house to hang out with Addison and then met Russ for dinner.

Sunday morning started daylight savings time so we celebrated with European Sipping Chocolate from The Chocolate Fetish.  

it's what I imagine Willy Wonka's chocolate river tastes like...and it has ruined regular hot chocolate for me.

Dad had to leave at lunch time on Sunday so we woke up early to watch JT on SNL

We ate some brunch then dropped him off at the airport. 

I went to a baby shower for one of my friends and then relaxed the rest of the day.

It was an awesome weekend...even if Addison is still moping around because her friend left.
